Stakeholder Management in a Box

“Stakeholder management is a lot about working out who the decision makers are and who influences the decision makers. This involves a lot of listening. Then engineer opportunities to get to meet and get to know what’s important to each of these people (decision makers and influencers) and then gently make your pitch in a way that pushes the right buttons for each of them before you start pitching formally, so you know you’ll have their support. It’s actually an ongoing process and skill, not something you only do when you want support for something big. Listening is key – actually in most things.”
